AdminiSoft customers, including the Screen Actors Guild - Producers Administrative Corporation (SAG-P), have been beta-testing the product for several months and on June 2, 2003, officially exited the beta-testing phase.

HIPAAxchange, the industry’s leading standalone, HIPAA transaction-compliant product, operates on both Windows NT and UNIX servers. HIPAAxchange processes eligibility request and response (270/271), claims submission (837), claims status (276/277) and claims payment/advice (835) transactions, and includes standard legacy application interfaces, Web pages, and comprehensive user/system documentation. “AdminiSoft is pleased to promote HIPAAxchange to production status and enable our customers to officially begin processing HIPAA-compliant EDI transactions ahead of the federally-mandated compliance date," said Ron Jensen, AdminiSoft's Vice President of Development.

HIPAAxchange release 1.3, scheduled for delivery during Q3 2003, will support the Addenda for use under HIPAA as published by the Department of Health and Human Services in February 2003. Release 1.3 will also include interfaces that enable healthcare claims processed by eiStream’s Imaging and Workflow solution to be routed directly to HIPAAxchange as 837s. This will further enhance SAG-P’s ability to “auto-pay” a majority of their insurance claims.

An important strength of the HIPAAxchange solution is its integration with any legacy benefits administration system, regardless of hardware or operating system environment, thus reducing administrative costs and the need for costly upgrades. The product’s powerful Trading Partner Management component also enables the user to set up direct trading partner relationships, thus bypassing costly clearinghouse fees.
